I grew up and went to school in south Cumbria until my family moved to Clitheroe in Lancashire. Eventually I went on to university in Liverpool and studied for a PhD in London, before I began my working life as a pharmacologist in a drug company in west London. When my children arrived I became a stay at home mum (in Nottingham) for a couple of years until they were old enough to be in nursery and school. Then I trained to become a teacher at University of Cumbria in Lancaster, and have been teaching secondary and sixth form science ever since.
I had a long-held dream to study silver-smithing at St Martin's College in London, and in the summer of 2018 this dream came true. I loved it so much that I set up a small business on Etsy and in a local shop which specialises in selling ethically sourced goods made by small scale suppliers. I make silver jewellery using only recycled or ethically sourced silver, and my style is modern and minimal. I have also made some gold jewellery by commission. If you want me to make your wedding rings or gifts for the wedding party, please get in touch!! https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/GreenandSilverDesign
My life so far has been one of twists and turns, and unexpected new beginnings, so I approach my ceremonies with the view that absolutely anything is possible!
Spending fifteen years in teaching has been a massive privilege, and I consider working with young people to be one of the best decisions I ever made. They are full of fun and energy, and boundless potential. In return for them giving me their gift of vitality, I offer them a reliable presence and a kind ear when things aren’t going so smoothly for them. It has also equipped me to deal with just about every eventuality with calm, poise and imagination and these are skills that I will bring to your day.
If you decide that I’m the right fit for you, I promise you that you will have my undivided attention from start to finish. If needed I can help you decide on elements to include or leave out, offer some interesting ideas (candles, hand-fasting, jumping the broom to name a few), and I can give you some top tips for writing your vows.
I will support and guide you through every step and will write and deliver a ceremony like nobody else’s, because it will tell the story of your relationship so far and your hopes and promises for the future.
